Conclusions from Character Study
Corset
Leather corset with shoulder straps. Forest green soft leather for main of the corset, cups are made from a brown fabric, possibly a sateen. Decorated with flat metal embellishments. Done up at the back with a centre back lace and eyelet closure.
Skirt
Black cotton skirt with a wide hemline as to allow for long strides for running and moving about. Fitted at the top and tappers out.
White Over-dress
Made from off-white velvet fabric. Full-length dress with hood. 3/4 length fitted sleeves that then open and fall to the floor from the elbow. Trimmed at the end of the fitted sleeve. Princess seams down to the floor, embroidered. Front closure with lacing to the hip, from there the dress falls open, showing the black skirt beneath. Laced up the back but not functional?

Work Flow
Step One: Creating the Skirt
To create the skirt I used black cotton fabric and followed the Black Snail Pattern. I made no alterations to the original pattern.
I have included a pocket into the side-front seam so I have somewhere to hold my phone and money when at conventions.
Step Two: Creating the Corset
Currently under construction.
I used Simplicity pattern 1183 to create a base for the corset. I first made a toile to get the right size, with this pattern you can choose your body size and your cup size (which is great!).
I need to make some alterations to the base pattern, turn the cups into ones which straps can attach to and make the front pointed rather than rounded.
